Does the SPAM decide who will be the next IEEE President? Enjoy the IEEE Spam-elections. Bogus Techniques in IEEE Elections. Shame IEEE. Shame IEEE Officers. Shame Vincenzo Piuri
Does the SPAM decide who will be the next IEEE President?  Our mailboxes are currently full of a new disgusting IEEE political SPAM.
Everyday, many SPAM campaigns from IEEE Candidates like Vincenzo Piuri and his fake and bogus techniques for the Chair of IEEE. (Chair of IEEE implies a lot of money from fake and bogus IEEE activities, like royalties from fake /  bogus conferences, kickbacks from IEEE Standards etc)
Why don't IEEE allow this kind of behaviours? Of course, we do not forget the hundreds of Computer-generated papers accepted in IEEE Data base.
This is the IEEE Elections SPAM sent by some Vincenzo Piuri, IEEE Fellow (...Spamllow).  Shame IEEE. Shame Vincenzo Piuri. This was the typical IEEE Spam
that we use to receive in multiple copies during the last two months:
 Dear Colleague,

I'd like to remind you of the election below ( http://www.ieee.org/elections ) which will close October 1, 2013, 17:00 UTC.

If you already voted for me, thank you!
If you have not voted yet, I'd like to ask to consider voting for me.

I'd also appreciate if you could help in spreading the voice and soliciting support from your colleagues, friends and graduate students (forwarding them my msg below).

Thank you!

ciao
Vin (Vincenzo Piuri, the best IEEE President)

P.S. Sorry for the double sending, just want to ensure first mail did not get lost in the summer pile :)

  2. We are researchers from different parts of the world and conducted a study on
the world’s biggest bogus computer science conference WORLDCOMP
( http://sites.google.com/site/worlddump1 ) organized by Prof. Hamid Arabnia
    from University of Georgia, USA.

We submitted a fake paper to WORLDCOMP 2011 and again (the same paper
with a modified title) to WORLDCOMP 2012. This paper had numerous
fundamental mistakes. Sample statements from that paper include:

(1). Binary logic is fuzzy logic and vice versa
    (2). Pascal developed fuzzy logic
(3). Object oriented languages do not exhibit any polymorphism or inheritance
(4). TCP and IP are synonyms and are part of OSI model
(5). Distributed systems deal with only one computer
(6). Laptop is an example for a super computer
(7). Operating system is an example for computer hardware

Also, our paper did not express any conceptual meaning. However, it
was accepted both the times without any modifications (and without
any reviews) and we were invited to submit the final paper and a
payment of $500+ fee to present the paper. We decided to use the
fee for better purposes than making Prof. Hamid Arabnia (Chairman
of WORLDCOMP) rich. After that, we received few reminders from
WORLDCOMP to pay the fee but we never responded.

We MUST say that you should look at the above website if you have any thoughts
to submit a paper to WORLDCOMP. DBLP and other indexing agencies have stopped
indexing WORLDCOMP’s proceedings since 2011 due to its fakeness. See
http://www.informatik.uni-trier.de/~ley/db/conf/icai/index.html for of one of the
conferences of WORLDCOMP and notice that there is no listing after 2010. See Section 2 of
http://sites.google.com/site/dumpconf for comments from well-known researchers
    about WORLDCOMP.

The status of your WORLDCOMP papers can be changed from scientific
to other (i.e., junk or non-technical) at any time. Better not to have a paper than
having it in WORLDCOMP and spoil the resume and peace of mind forever!

Our study revealed that WORLDCOMP is a money making business,
using University of Georgia mask, for Prof. Hamid Arabnia. He is throwing
out a small chunk of that money (around 20 dollars per paper published
in WORLDCOMP’s proceedings) to his puppet (Mr. Ashu Solo or A.M.G. Solo)
who publicizes WORLDCOMP and also defends it at various forums, using
fake/anonymous names. The puppet uses fake names and defames other conferences
to divert traffic to WORLDCOMP. He also makes anonymous phone calls and tries to
threaten the critiques of WORLDCOMP (See Item 7 of Section 5 of above website).
That is, the puppet does all his best to get a maximum number of papers published
at WORLDCOMP to get more money into his (and Prof. Hamid Arabnia’s) pockets.

Monte Carlo Resort (the venue of WORLDCOMP for more than 10 years, until 2012) has
refused to provide the venue for WORLDCOMP’13 because of the fears of their image
being tarnished due to WORLDCOMP’s fraudulent activities. That is why WORLDCOMP’13
is taking place at a different resort. WORLDCOMP will not be held after 2013.

The draft paper submission deadline is over but still there are no committee
members, no reviewers, and there is no conference Chairman. The only contact
details available on WORLDCOMP’s website is just an email address!

Let us make a direct request to Prof. Hamid arabnia: publish all reviews for
all the papers (after blocking identifiable details) since 2000 conference. Reveal
the names and affiliations of all the reviewers (for each year) and how many
papers each reviewer had reviewed on average. We also request him to look at
the Open Challenge (Section 6) at https://sites.google.com/site/moneycomp1

Sorry for posting to multiple lists. Spreading the word is the only way to stop
this bogus conference. Please forward this message to other mailing lists and people.

We are shocked with Prof. Hamid Arabnia and his puppet’s activities

Do not go to China for fake and bogus IEEE crappy conferences, please. It is waste of time, money and self-respect. At the same time, IEEE scammers (like Vincenzo Piuri) send us incredible spam asking us to vote for them to be IEEE Presidents.
All IEEE conferences in Malaysia and China are fake. Do you hear me? They are fake.

  5. FAKE IADIS CONFERENCES SENT US THIS SPAM. I FOUND IT IN MY PC and I AM POSTING IT HERE. IADIS CONFERENCES ARE OF ZERO ACADEMIC VALUSE. HAVE YOU EVER RECEIVED ANY PAPER FROM IADIS TO REVIEW?

    Dear Dr.,

I am chairing the IADIS International Conference Applied Computing 2012 and would like to invite you for the scientific committee of this conference that will be held in Madrid, Spain (please see http://www.computing-conf.org/).

As a member of the committee, you will get some papers to review in the topics you select (topics list available http://www.computing-conf.org/topics.asp). You are entitled to be part of the proceedings book and CD-ROM and also have free entrance to the conference except if you are author or co-author of a paper and wish to present it yourself or get it published in the proceedings in case none of the co-authors registers for the conference.

Can I just ask you for a couple of names that could also be part of this committee? The idea is to increase the number of members in the committee in order to reduce the committee members’ workload.

Also, can you please send me your address so that we can send you a CD-ROM with the proceedings of this year’s edition?

Could you please let me know whether you accept this invitation the soon
    as possible?

Hope to see you being part of this IADIS conference.

    Best regards,
    Applied Computing 2012 Conference Chair

  7. I agree that the IAENG Conferences are fake. I was fooled by one spam email and I participated in a junk IAENG Conference. The whole image was unacceptable. Many papers were student works of the 1st or the 2nd Semister. I am sure that their authors did not spend more than 20-30 minutes to write them. After this Bogus IAENG Conference, I went to a SIAM Conference. The level in SIAM Conference was better, however I sent them only an Abstract and my 10 lines' Abstract was accepted without review. I conclude that this SIAM conference was also gibberish. I have also discovered many bogus (fake) Conferences. You can find very easily them by Google.

  8. More Fake IEEE Conferences. The Fake Conference of Hamid Arabnia 2014 changes name. Hamid Arabnia's fake organization is called now "AMERICAN COUNCIL on SCIENCE and EDUCATION" with "official" site:http://www.americancse.org
    More Fake IEEE Conferences:

The Fake and Bogus Conferences of Hamid Arabnia change name. Hamid Arabnia's fake organization is called now "AMERICAN COUNCIL on SCIENCE and EDUCATION" with "official" site:http://www.americancse.org

It is amazing that this site: http://www.americancse.org/events/csci2014 and the site: http://www.americancse.org does not have any name of any scholar. No President. No Chairmen. No Program Commitees. Be careful of the new fake Conferences of Hamid Arabnia. Hamid Arabnia false claims again in
    http://www.americancse.org/events/csci2014/publication
that the proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society's CPS. Authors of accepted papers must agree with the standard IEEE's statement in reference to IEEE Copyrights (Intellectual Property Rights):

"The CSCI conference acknowledges that the IEEE shall at all times be the sole owner of all rights in and to the work. The IEEE shall have the exclusive right (but not the obligation) to obtain and renew copyright registration of, or relating to, any and all such works in the name of IEEE or in such other name or names as IEEE may elect. This agreement constitutes an assignment to IEEE of all rights in and to the work the conference agrees to execute and deliver to IEEE, promptly upon request, any documents that IEEE may reasonably request to attain and protect IEEE's exclusive rights."

After the conference, selected authors will also be given the opportunity to have the extended versions of their papers considered for publication by journals and book publishers (Springer, Elsevier, ...)
    See http://www.americancse.org/events/csci2014/publication
i.e. the same fudge every year. The same fairy tale of Hamid Arabnia every year.
